Update, 6:30 p.m.: The car that caught fire belonged to an 18-year-old who was in the car with his 20-year-old brother. They were riding to work when the crash happened, according to their father.

The 20-year-old was air-lifted with a fractured vertebrae in his spine and a head wound, but he has been treated and released. The 18-year-old had severe bruising, and he has also been released.

Update: The wreck involved three vehicles, one of them towing a boat on a trailer, according to witnesses.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – A vehicle went up in flames and two people were injured in a wreck Sunday morning on Ashland City Road.

At 6:38 a.m., Clarksville Police responded to a two-vehicle crash at 2880 Ashland City Road, according to Officer Scott Beaubien. Upon officers’ arrival, one of the vehicles was fully engulfed in flames. Clarksville Fire Rescue extinguished the fire. No one was inside the burning vehicle.

As a result of the collision, one person was being airlifted to a Nashville hospital via LifeFlight, while a second person was being transported by EMS to Tennova Healthcare-Clarksville.

Ashland City Road is was reduced to a single lane, and motorists are advised to expect delays in the area.
