Update, 6:25 p.m.: Westbound traffic remains backed up from mile marker 9 to about mile marker 16. Eastbound is now clear.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Interstate 24 was tied up Wednesday evening after a truck crash in the westbound lanes.

At about 4:35 p.m., a truck pulling a flatbed trailer hit a guardrail near mile marker 9 and the wreckage blocked one westbound lane, according to Clarksville Police.

At 5:25 p.m., westbound traffic was backed up past Exit 11 to about mile marker 17.

There were also backups in the eastbound lanes around Exit 8 and around mile marker 15.

Motorists are advised to find an alternate route until the roadway can be cleared.
