UPDATE: Traffic clearing after semi crash on Interstate 24 in Clarksville

Update, 4:30 p.m.: Traffic at the scene has cleared, but a backup remains from about mile marker 5 to Exit 8.

Update, 4 p.m.: Traffic is backed up to Exit 8.

Previously: 

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – An 18-wheeler crashed with an SUV on Interstate 24 Tuesday afternoon.

At about 3:50 p.m., the vehicles crashed in the eastbound lanes just before Exit 11, according to emergency dispatch.

Traffic was backed up to about mile marker 9 and growing.
