Update, 7:40 p.m.: Traffic has improved, with only a small backup remaining on Providence.
Previously:
CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – A truck has crashed into a utility pole on Providence Boulevard, with power lines blocking part of the highway.
At about 5:23 p.m., the truck hit the pole at Market Street, according to Clarksville Police spokesman Scott Beaubien. One northbound lane of Providence is blocked.
As of 7 p.m., northbound traffic is backed up and moving slowly, and both southbound lanes are open. Motorists are advised to find an alternate route until the pole can be replaced and the lines moved out of the roadway.
