Update, 10:23 a.m.: Anthony Johnson, spokesperson for the Clarksville Montgomery County School District, released a statement from CHS Principal  Bryan Feldman regarding the student who was struck by a vehicle and critically injured.

“Continue to keep (our CHS student who was injured) in your thoughts and prayers. He is a tough kid and is improving daily. Continue to pray for his family and friends as well. Many have asked about making donations to the family. We are working with the family and will get information to you over the next couple of days on how you can give. I appreciate the outpouring of love and concern and how strong our CHS family is.”

Update, 4:50 p.m.: Traffic has returned to its normal congestion level on Warfield.

Update, 4:10 p.m.: Traffic is backed up past Shady Bluff Trail.

Clarksville Police said the wreck is under investigation.

Update, 3:20 p.m.: A Clarksville High School student was critically injured when he was hit by a car on Richview Road.

After school, the student was walking to the church across the street to meet his mom at her car, according to CMCSS spokesman Anthony Johnson.

Traffic was at a standstill on both sides when he spotted her car and ran across the street. A car traveling in the middle turning lane struck the student.

The student is being flown by LifeFlight helicopter to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

The Clarksville Police Department is at the scene assisting with traffic, and the School Resource Officer and Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office patrol responded.

“We are praying for the student and family,” Johnson said.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – A pedestrian was hit by a vehicle at about 2:44 p.m. today on Richview Road near Clarksville High School.

At 3:10 p.m., southbound traffic on Richview/Warfield Boulevard was backed up past Dunbar Cave Road.

Clarksville Now has reached out to Clarksville Police and the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System for information.
