Update, 3:45 p.m.: One person was killed in the wreck. At about 10:28 a.m. a CFR District Command Vehicle was responding to a house fire and crashed on Peachers Mill, according to Fire Chief Freddie Montgomery Jr.
The CFR employee was transported by MCEMS to the hospital. He has been treated and is about to be released. The person in the other vehicle died as a result of the crash.
“Our deepest sympathy goes out to the victim’s family, and we ask for prayers for everyone affected by this tragic accident as we navigate this difficult and unfamiliar time,” Montgomery said.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol is conducting a full investigation.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – A Clarksville Fire Rescue SUV crashed on Peachers Mill Road while responding to a fire Monday morning.
At 11:20 a.m., Clarksville Police were working the two-vehicle injury crash on Peachers Mill near Allen Griffey Road. Peachers Mill Road is shut down.
No further information has been released.
CPD is urging citizens to stay off the roads in the area unless they are directly involved in tornado relief. “The traffic congestion is making it difficult for first responders to operate as well as CDE who is working to restore power to the area.”
