UPDATE: Motorcyclist critically injured in crash on Madison Street in downtown Clarksville

Update, 4:40 p.m.: The roadway is back open.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – A motorcyclist was critically injured in a crash on Madison Street Wednesday afternoon.

At about 3:18 p.m., the woman riding the motorcycle had a single-vehicle crash at Madison and Seventh Street, according to a news release from Clarksville Police spokesman Officer Scott Beaubien. She was being flown to Nashville by LifeFlight helicopter.

Madison was shut down between Seventh and University Avenue, and FACT Investigators were en route to the scene.

At 3:50 p.m. traffic was backed up around the surrounding blocks downtown. Motorists are advised to find an alternate route until the roadway can be opened back up.
