Update, 4:45 p.m.: Madison Street is back open. Traffic will remain slow through the area as the backup clears.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – A multi-vehicle crash has tied up eastbound traffic on Madison Street.

At about 3:30 p.m., three vehicles crashed on Madison and Denny Road, according to Clarksville Police spokesman Scott Beaubien. Minor injuries were reported.

The eastbound lanes of Madison were shut down and driver are using the continuous left hand turning lane for eastbound traffic. This is causing major traffic congestion and CPD is asking the public to find alternate routes until the roadway can be completely cleared.
