CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A food distribution event has one lane of Madison Street blocked from just after Crossland Avenue to Liberty Parkway.
A group is giving away food at the old Eckerd/Rite Aid drugstore at the intersection of Liberty Parkway. Cars lined up to collect food are backed up for about 2,500 feet.

The event is being held by Open Door Ministries, located on 1400B Fort Campbell Blvd., and it will continue today while supplies last.
“We’re just feeding anybody that shows up who needs food,” said Pastor Mark Hutchinson.
“With the epidemic that we’ve had this year, everybody needs something. And if you have to question whether to pay a bill or feed your family, we’ll feed your family so you can pay your bill,” he said.
Open Door joined with several other churches and ministries to collect the goods, and the distribution will be held every Tuesday until Christmas, Hutchinson said.
