Update, 10 p.m.: A motorcyclist is dead after being hit by a Jeep that was going the wrong way on Interstate 24 in Clarksville Sunday evening, according to Tennessee Highway Patrol.
At about 5:19 p.m. at about mile marker 3, a 2016 Jeep Patriot was traveling eastbound in a westbound lane on I-24 and it hit a 2024 Kawasaki ZX6 head-on, according to Clarksville Now news partner WKRN-Nashville.
The operator of the Kawasaki — identified as 21-year-old Ethan Tran of Tennessee — died from his injuries.
The driver of the Jeep — 68-year-old Christopher Mulwa of Tennessee — was wearing his seatbelt, but he was injured in the crash, THP said. He is reportedly charged with vehicular homicide.
The interstate has since reopened.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Interstate 24 remains shut down following a crash at about 5:30 p.m. Sunday.
The westbound lanes are shut down from Exit 4 to Exit 1 following a crash near mile marker 3. Traffic is backed up almost to Exit 8.
CPD is attempting to divert traffic off I-24 at Exit 4 and is asking the public to avoid the area and find alternate routes until further notice.
