Update, 6:20 p.m.: Interstate traffic is mostly back to normal through Clarksville.
Update, 6:10 p.m.: Traffic is clear after Exit 11 and slow but clearing after Exit 8.
Update, 5:55 p.m.: Traffic is mostly clear past Exit 11.
Update, 5:45 p.m.: Traffic is now backed up to about 9 miles, to mile marker 5, however the lanes have been opened at the wreck site, and traffic is clearing past Exit 11.
Update, 5:10 p.m.: A medical evacuation helicopter has taken at least one victim from the wreck site.
The shoulder of the eastbound lanes is open, but the main lanes remain closed. Traffic is backed up about 6 miles, past Exits 11 and 8.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Interstate 24 eastbound has been shut down because of a wreck.
At 4:40 p.m., the eastbound lanes were closed at mile marker 14.4 due to a major injury collision between a semi and a four-door sedan, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

“Sheriff’s Patrol advises this event may take time to clear. Please seek alternate routes of travel,” MCSO said.
