The wreck involved a commercial vehicle and two passenger vehicles, according to NewsChannel 5.
Update, 4:45 p.m.: The estimate for clearing the interstate has been extended to 5:30 p.m.
Traffic was packed up to about mile marker 3.
Update, 4 p.m.: Traffic is backed up past Exit 4 to about mile marker 2, 12 miles from the wreck.
There’s also a wreck on the alternate route, U.S. Highway 41A eastbound, just past Oak Plains Road, with traffic backed up about 3 miles from the wreck.
Update, 3:40 p.m.: Traffic is backed up about 5 miles to mile marker 6.

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Interstate 24 eastbound is closed in Montgomery County after a wreck involving multiple vehicles.
As of 3:20 p.m., the eastbound lanes were closed between mile markers 13 and 14 following a wreck at 2:43 p.m., according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
TDOT estimates it will be clear by 4:30 p.m.
