UPDATE: Traffic back to normal on Interstate 24 eastbound in Clarksville

Update: Traffic has returned to normal.

Update, 12:10 a.m.: Not so fast: Traffic is at a standstill again from about MM 6 past Exit 8 to about MM 9.

Update, 11:45 a.m.: Traffic is clearing but still slow, with a lingering backup at Exit 8.

Update, 11:15 a.m.: Traffic is moving but slowly, and the backup has extended past Exit 4.

Previously:

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Traffic was backed up on Interstate 24 in Clarksville late Friday morning.

At 10:40 a.m., eastbound traffic was at a standstill from about mile marker 5, past Exit 8 to about mile marker 10.
