Update, 4:15 p.m.: Traffic on the interstate is back to normal, but that includes congestion westbound from about Exit 1 to the construction site in Kentucky.
Update, 2:55 p.m.: The interstate is back open but there’s heavy congestion. It’s backed up from about mile maker 6, past Exit 4 to just past Exit 1.
Update, 1:30 p.m.: Traffic is getting worse, now backed up past Exit 8 to about mile marker 9. The interstate is closed at Exit 8, where traffic is being diverted.
Update, 1 p.m.: The traffic backup is now from mile marker 7 to Exit 1.
Previously:
CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Interstate 24 westbound was closed after a wreck Friday morning.
At 11:50 a.m., Clarksville Police were assisting Tennessee Highway Patrol with the crash just past the 1 mile marker, according to a CPD press release.
Traffic was backed up from Exit 4 to just past Exit 1, where all traffic was being diverted to exit the interstate. Drivers are urged to avoid the area until the wreck is cleared.
