Update, 9 a.m.: Interstate traffic is back to normal.

Update, 8:25 a.m.: The roadway is back open, according to CPD. Traffic is still backed up past Exit 1 but is clearing at Exit 4.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – An injury crash was blocking traffic on Interstate 24 Wednesday morning.

At about 7 a.m., two vehicles crashed in the eastbound lanes near mile marker 5, according to Clarksville Police spokesman Officer Scott Beaubien. There were minor injuries.

One vehicle was blocking the left lane and and part of the right lane. Motorists are able to use the right shoulder to continue eastbound. The Tennessee Highway Patrol is on the scene and working the crash.

At 7:50 a.m., traffic was backed up past Exit 4 and Exit 1.

Motorists are advised to find an alternate route until the roadway can be cleared.
