CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – A driver was critically injured Thursday when his vehicle hit a utility pole on Highway 76, taking down power lines just east of Exit 11.
Just before 4 p.m., a vehicle traveling on 76 left the roadway and struck a utility pole near South Gateway Plaza Boulevard, according to Clarksville Police spokesman Scott Beaubien.
The driver was being flown to Nashville by LifeFlight helicopter. The driver’s status has not been released.
There are power lines down and the roadway is shut down just east of Exit 11. CDE has been notified, however, it is unknown how long the roadway will be closed, Beaubien said.
Motorists are advised to find an alternate route until the roadway can be cleared.
