Update, 8:25 p.m.: One of the vehicles involved was a motorcycle. At least one person was taken from the scene by helicopter.
The roadway is now clear.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Lanes of Dover Road were shut down by a crash Tuesday night.
At about 5:30 p.m., vehicles crashed on Dover Road at Purple Heart Parkway, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.
Both lanes on the westbound side were closed between Liberty Church Road and Purple Heart Parkway. At 6:20 p.m. traffic was still backed up around the area.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
