UPDATE: Interstate 24 mostly clear after traffic near mile marker 2

Update, 7 p.m.: Interstate traffic is now back to normal.

Update, 5:20 p.m.: Eastbound traffic is now backed up past Pembroke Road.

Westbound traffic is at a standstill between Exits 8 and 4.

Update, 4:35 p.m.: Eastbound traffic is now backed up about 2 miles into Kentucky, with traffic at a standstill around Exit 1.

It’s also getting slower in the westbound lanes, with slow traffic going back to Exit 4.

Previously: 

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – A car ran off the road on Interstate 24 near mile marker 2 this afternoon, tying up eastbound traffic.

At 4:20 p.m., eastbound traffic was backed up past the Kentucky state line.

Westbound traffic was slow near the wreck site.
