CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – A crash early Sunday morning took down power lines across Madison Street, and the street is closed until repairs can be made.
At about 3:46 a.m., a Jeep Renegade struck a utility pole at 1979 Madison St., O’Neals Bar and Grill, according to Clarksville Police spokesman Scott Beaubien. The crash knocked down the power lines and the live wires were on the roadway.
Madison Street was shut down and CDE is working to replace the pole. It is unknown how long the road will be shut down, and motorists are advised to find an alternate route.
The roadway remained closed at 7:35 a.m.
No information has been released on the condition of the driver.
