Update, 5 p.m.: Deputies are directing traffic when able, but frequent road closures will continue for hours as CEMC repairs the pole and lines, according to MCSO.

Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – A truck crashed into a utility pole Friday afternoon on Highway 76 east of Clarksville, bringing down power lines that have blocked the entrance to the Bradbury Farms subdivision.

The wreck happened at 2:30 p.m. on Highway 76 at Bradbury Road, according to Montgomery County Sheriff’s Sgt. Bishop Delaney. The white pickup truck was going westbound on 76 when it crashed into the pole. There was no immediate word on injuries.

CEMC crews have told drivers at the scene the road may be closed for another two hours, according to Greg Gilman. Traffic is at a standstill in both directions.

Gilman said that after-school traffic is blocked from going in or out of the neighborhood. Bradbury Road is the only one way in and out of Bradbury Farms.

About 380 people lost power because of outages from the downed lines.
