UPDATE: Interstate 24 traffic clearing after crash in Clarksville

Update, 9:40: Traffic is mostly clear, with some remaining slowness in the eastbound lanes.

Update, 8:45: Traffic is worsening, backed up now almost to Exit 1.

Previously:

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – A two-vehicle wreck has traffic congested on Interstate 24 eastbound.

At about 6:50 a.m., the vehicles wrecked between mile markers 8 and 9, according to CPD. Eastbound traffic has been reduced to one lane, which is causing traffic congestion.

At 8:20 a.m., traffic was at a standstill past Exit 8 and Exit 4 to about mile marker 3.

Motorists are advised to find an alternate route until the roadway can be cleared.
