Update, 8:30 p.m.: Traffic is back to normal downtown.

Update, 4:40 p.m.: Event organizers at Mocha and Minis announced on their Facebook event page that the event is now closed to further attendees, as the venue has reached capacity.

No further attendees will be let in; anyone still on their way should head back home.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Blippi fans have packed the roads of south Clarksville trying to get to the Wilma Rudolph Event Center for his appearance this afternoon.

At 4 p.m., traffic to Liberty Park was backed up on the Bypass to Kings Bluff, on Cumberland Drive past Crossland Avenue, and on Riverside Drive all the way to McGregor Park. Southbound traffic was also backed up on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard at the College Street bridge.

Blippi is a popular YouTuber known for his orange and blue outfit as well as his bright, energetic personality, which he uses to teach kids about numbers, letters, colors and more. His channel has over 15 million subscribers.

He’s in Clarksville today thanks to 3-year-old Layla, who won a contest with the help of friends, family and the community at large.
