CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Clarksville Police is asking for the public to steer clear of the area around KP Auto Sales after a potential explosive was reported this morning.
At approximately 9:07 a.m. on Wednesday, CPD received a 911 call about a possible explosive device that was found in a vehicle that the caller had just picked up from a scrap yard. According to CPD spokesman Scott Beaubien, the caller said there was a small black bag with what appears to be a fuse coming out of it.
Avalon Street, between Fort Campbell Boulevard and Sevier Street, is currently shut down and the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad has been notified and is responding to the scene, as well as Clarksville Fire Rescue and Montgomery County EMS.
Citizens are asked to avoid the area until the scene has been deemed safe.
