A recent video released by humor website “Funny or Die” uses footage from “Made in Tennessee” tourism promotions to target a bill that would allow therapists to deny counseling services based on religious beliefs.
Tennessee would be the only state to allow counselors to refuse to treat patients if the bill is signed into law.
The American Counseling Association says the bill is in direct violation of its Code of Ethics.
The bill has passed the House and Senate and is on its way to the governor’s desk. He has not yet said whether he will sign it.
