Update, 6:35 p.m.: The Tornado Watch has been canceled, and we are no longer under any NWS alerts or advisories.

Update, 5:01 p.m.: A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has now also been issued for Montgomery County until 5:45 p.m.

The National Weather Service reported at 4:26 p.m. doppler radar tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending 8 miles southeast of Canton to near Routon. Reports show movement was east at 40 miles per hour, with wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail.

The following locations are set to be impacted by the thunderstorms, according to the NWS: Clarksville, Waverly, Camden, Dover, Erin, McEwen, Tennessee Ridge, Big Rock, Cumberland City, Palmyra, Woodlawn, Land Between the Lakes, Houston County Airport, Indian Mound, and Cunningham.

NWs also said that this includes Interstate 24 between mile markers 1 and 12. “If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building,” said NWS.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – A Tornado Watch has been issued for Montgomery County, and other surrounding counties, until Friday evening.

The Tornado Watch was issued at 1:09 p.m. on Friday afternoon and is expected to last until 8 p.m., according to AccuWeather.
