ELKTON, KY – The Todd County Chamber of Commerce announces the start of the 2021 Todd County Bale Trail.
Forty-seven residents, businesses and organizations across Todd County have created and displayed sculptures made of rolls, bales, or loose hay. The Todd County Bale Trail has garnered statewide attention and attracts tourists from several states.
“In 2014, the first year of the Bale Trail, we had 21 entries. This year, we have 47 entries, making this the biggest and best year yet,” said Tiffany Groves, executive director of the Todd County Chamber of Commerce.
“We are excited to welcome visitors of all ages to explore the Bale Trail and enjoy this fall family fun event. This is also a perfect social distancing-friendly activity, as visitors can enjoy the displays from inside their cars if they choose.”
“Most Creative Awards” were chosen by 4 independent judges on Sept 27 and were scored on originality, creative use of materials, attention to detail, and overall impression. The winners were as follows:
- Non-Profit Category Winner – “If You Give A Mouse A Cook-HAY” at South Todd Elementary School.
- Business Category Winner – “Not All HAY-roes Wear Capes” at Hearthstone Place Long Term Care.
- Private Residence Category Winner – “HAY-ppy Harvest” at 1925 Shemwell Road in Sharon Grove.
The public is invited to vote on their favorite displays for the “Fan Favorite Award” on the Todd County Chamber of Commerce Facebook page through Oct 31.
