VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WKRN) – Tennessee Titans wide receiver and Virginia Beach native Justin Hunter, 24, was taken into custody Monday for a bar fight that happened in Virginia Beach on July 4, according to WKRN News 2.
According to a police report, as the Fourth of July holiday was getting under way officers were called to a large fight at Sandbar Raw Bar.
Prosecutors said during Hunter’s arraignment that he started a fight on July 3 by punching a man in the face twice. After the bar was cleared, prosecutors said Hunter punched the man again while he was bent over spitting out blood on the sidewalk.
Prosecutors say the man had a broken jaw as a result of the incident.
Hunter was charged with one count of felonious assault.
General District Judge Daniel Lahne said Tuesday Hunter could be released on a $25,000 bond as long as he remained on good behavior and was placed under a curfew, among other things.
The Tennessee Titans released the following statement regarding Hunter’s arrest: “We are aware of the situation and are continuing to gather more facts.”
