NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – The Tennessee Titans suffered an unexpected loss Tuesday when tight end Craig Stevens mysteriously retired.
The Titans confirmed the news late Tuesday.
The 31-year old joined the Titans as a third round draft pick in 2008 out of California.
In his eight seasons Stevens caught 60 passes for 724 yards and 6 TD’s. He caught 12 passes last season.
While a capable receiver, Stevens established himself as an elite blocking tight end in Tennessee.
Stevens was with the Titans all spring and summer and even played in their last preseason game with Carolina, but was missing from practice Monday and Tuesday.
