The last time the Titans had a winning streak was to close out the season in 2013, beating division rivals Jacksonville and Houston.
While the players acknowledged the chance to win back-to-back games and give the fans a much needed victory in Nashville, all of that is on the back burner when it comes to beating Cleveland this weekend.
“I’ll be honest with you, the message here right now is win this game. It’s not about home, two in a row, fans, the Browns who’ve beaten us twice… I’s about we gotta win this football game, win this game, that’s all I’m gonna talk about,” said head coach Mike Mularkey.
The 0-5 Browns were No. 1 before a 33-13 loss to New England last week pushed their rush attack down to fifth at 124 yards per game.
The Browns have struggled to keep a healthy quarterback on the field all season losing Josh McCown, Robert Griffin III and Cody Kessler all to injury.
Kessler was officially named the Browns starter after completing practice Thursday.
Kessler was unable to finish his start last Sunday against New England after he suffered an injury to his rib and chest.
The Titans haven’t beaten the Browns since 2011, and the last time they played the Browns in Nashville they blew a 25-point lead to lose 29-28 under Ken Whisenhunt.
