HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. – Thanks to tips from the community, the Hopkinsville Police Department was able to apprehend a man suspected of a robbery September 2.

Detectives arrested John Lewis Fairley III, 23, for his alleged involvement in the robbery of a 63-year-old man in an alley near the 300 block of East 18th Street. Read the original story here.

Fairley has been charged with 1st degree robbery, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, receiving stolen property (firearm), and tampering with physical evidence.

Hopkinsville police said they are grateful for the tips and believe Fairley would still be on the loose had it not been for the help of the public. The tipsters will receive a cash award from the Hopkinsville-Christian County Crime Stoppers.
