CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – About 250 people attended the Tickle Me Pink fundraising event Oct. 8 at the Wilma Rudolph Event Center to support the local After Breast Cancer (ABC) program.
The Clarksville Area YMCA hosts the ABC program and all the proceeds from Tickle Me Pink support it. This is a free 16-week program that provides personal training and healing resources for local women during or after breast cancer.
Attendees enjoyed lunch, shopping, and remarks from guest speaker Annie F. Downs.
Downs has published four books, with one more in the works. She was named one of the 5 Female Authors to Watch in 2014.
Other speakers included Clarksville Area YMCA Executive Director O’Bee O’Bryant, ABC Participant and Trainer Tammy Thrash, and Benita Martin with Gateway Medical Center.
A Rose Ceremony was held to honor those who have been affected by breast cancer.
