CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Ladies, you will want to mark your calendars for October 9th, 2014, to attend the 4th annual Tickle Me Pink luncheon. Tickle Me Pink is a fundraiser for the After Breast Cancer program at the Clarksville Area YMCA. The luncheon has been a benchmark event in the fundraising community in the past thanks to its fabulous shopping with local vendors, wonderful door prizes and popular speakers. This year is no different as they are hosting the famous blogger and author, Glennon Doyle Melton.
Glennon Doyle Melton is the author of New York Times Bestselling memoir, CARRY ON, WARRIOR. Glennon is the founder Momastery.com, an online community where more than 135,000 readers meet daily to read her shameless and hilarious essays about marriage, motherhood, faith, addiction, recovery and connection. She is the creator and president of a non-profit organization that has connected countless families in need with hundreds of thousands of dollars in critical resources.
Glennon speaks domestically and internationally and is a regular contributor to Huffington Post and other publications. CARRY ON, WARRIOR, Glennon and her philanthropic work have been featured on The TODAY Show, The Talk, Ladies’ Home Journal, Woman’s Day, Glamour UK, Family Circle, Parents Magazine, American Baby, and Newsweek, among other television and print outlets. She lives in Florida with her family.
Last year’s event raised over $36,000 in support for After Breast Cancer (ABC) program here in Clarksville. The ABC program is a free, 16-week program for those who have been diagnosed, or are in remission from breast cancer. The program entails private, one on one meetings with a Pink Ribbon personal trainer, dieticians, lymphedema specialist, free custom wigs, and many events where survivors can connect with each other.
Tickets are now on sale online and can be purchased at http://give.ymcamidtn.org/ticklemepink/.
