CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Soldiers and Families Embraced (SAFE) is hosting its annual breakfast fundraiser on November 8.
This year’s theme is focused on “embracing the foundation.” SAFE sees the foundation for mental wellness built on our basic support system, resiliency, self-esteem and education. For service members, veterans and family members, the foundation can sometimes get “shaken up” due to stress related to high tempo of military life, changes, and frequent uncertainties. SAFE recognizes these unique stressors, and works to try to strengthen this foundation.
The fundraiser this year is set for Thursday, November 8 at 7:30 a.m., at Belle Hollow Event Center at Miss Lucille’s, 2231 Madison Street. Individual tickets are $100 and tables are still available at the $1000 sponsorship level. All proceeds go towards providing free counseling for military and their families, many of whom have a foundation that needs strengthening due to the effects of more than 17 years of war.
SAFE is a non-profit that is funded solely through donations and grants. This annual fundraiser in the past has served to fund counseling services for approximately 320 individual and/or couples sessions. SAFE understands that the costs for the fundraiser are not possible for everyone to be able to meet, but any donation helps us provide counseling to those that are struggling.
The guest speaker for the breakfast will be Lieutenant General Ronald Bailey, USMC (Ret), who currently serves as Vice President of External Affairs at Austin Peay State University. SAFE will also be honoring the annual Community Hero Award. Former recipients of the award include: the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association (Chapter 18-2), State Senator Mark Green, Phil Harpel, Senior Community Banking office for US Bank, Carol Clark, Executive Assistant to the President at Austin Peay State University, and the late Col. Ted Crozier, US Army (Ret) and former Clarksville mayor.
All recipients of the award have demonstrated exceptional support to the military and veteran communities in the Clarksville/Ft. Campbell area.
Tickets can be purchased by calling 931-591-3241, emailing info@safetn.org or at soldiersandfamiliesembraced.org.
