CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) Plans are underway for the 9th Annual Empty Bowls, Hope, Not Hunger lunch and dinner on Tuesday, February 28 at six area churches in Clarksville-Montgomery County.
The event raises support and awareness for Loaves & Fishes and Urban Ministries Food Pantry. Both organizations provide thousands of meals every year to struggling families and individuals who are in need.
Throughout the year, folks from all walks of life hand paint and donate bowls which are symbols of giving and hope. The bowls are a reminder that there are empty bowls in the community and that everyone can do something to help feed a hungry neighbor.
On February 28, Trinity Episcopal Church, Grace Lutheran Church and New Providence Methodist Church will serve lunch. Dinner will be served at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter–day Saints and Sango United Methodist Church.
Attend the Empty Bowls fundraiser and you will enjoy a meal of delicious hot soup, bread, desert and a drink. You’ll also be able to take home a unique, hand painted bowl. Bowls are provided by The Pottery Room, Horsefeathers Pottery & Art Studio and the APSU Ceramics Department.
Tickets for Empty Bowls are $15 and are on sale now. They can be purchased at any of the host churches named above or at Sango Pharmacy, 2622 Madison Street, Suite A. You can also go to www.eventbrite.com for tickets which will include a small online processing fee.
