Hopkinsville, KY. – Thurman Campbell Group, PLC is not only celebrating the holiday season this year, they are also celebrating their growth with the merger with an accounting firm in Murray, Kentucky.

The former Martin, Colson, Hale and Henderson in Murray is joining the Thurman Campbell Group on January 1 2014. Thurman Campbell Group already has offices in Clarksville, Tennessee, Hopkinsville, Kentucky and Princeton, Kentucky and the addition will add an office in Murray.

Bob Yates, Managing Partner of Thurman Campbell group, said the merger will bring the partners and staff to 40-plus for the business. “As the managing partner I’m very proud of what we’ve accomplished over the last 25 years and the growth that we’ve had. Especially our relationships with our clients and how they’ve grown,” said Yates.

Talking about Murray, Yates added that the city is kind of a hidden jewel. It’s a very dynamic community in Western Kentucky with Murray State University and Thurman Campbell Group is looking forward to being a part of the city and they are extremely impressed with the community.

Matt Hale, a new partner with Thurman Campbell Group in the Murray office talked about the opportunity to grow their firm and take it to the next level as well as their growth over the next 20-30 years. Hale said they looked around at some different firms and after talking with Yates decided that Thurman Campbell Group was the right choice.

“We realized we were all about the same thinking, the same mind set, the way we treat clients, our expectations and the same mentality going forward so we thought it would be a very good fit. I think we’ve made a good decision and we hope the future is bright,” Hale said.

Hale added he noticed that all of the Thurman Campbell offices are located in downtown areas just like their office in Murray. He said that was good blend of the old services that used to be provided for years and the new services that will be coming forward.

Many people may not be aware that Thurman Campbell has been around since the late 1940’s. The accounting firm originally started in Hopkinsville, then an office was opened in Princeton, and in 1989 an office in Clarksville was added.

Thurman Campbell offers a long list of business services to clients including tax planning and return preparation, estate planning, accounting and bookkeeping, payroll services and much more. “We provide accounting services, basically A to Z, we try to be all things that we can to our small business clients,” Yates said.
