Thomas G. “Mr. Sleepy” Lumpkins, age 65, departed this life on Sunday July 28, 2024, with his cherished wife by his side. He was born on February 26, 1959, to the late Charles and Louise Lumpkins.
Thomas served in the Army from 1981 until he was honorably discharged in 1986. He then went on to become a long-haul trucker, from which he recently retired from Schneider. Throughout his years on the road, he came to know many, most becoming more like family than friends.
One trip through Ohio would change the rest of his life when he met his beautiful bride, Laura. Together they shared 31 years of joy, and the heartbreaking loss of their only son, Zach. “Mr. Sleepy” was a well-loved and respected member of the Dotsonville community and has strong ties to the Subdued Few MC.
Left to forever cherish his memory are his soulmate and beloved wife, Laura England Langley Lumpkins; his nieces Misty Adkinson, Holly Hamilton, and Angie England; two great-nephews; four great-nieces, one great-great niece and nephew, many loved cousins, and “Daughter” Christy Boksa.
In addition to his parents, Thomas is preceded in death with his son Zach; and all of his siblings.
Memorial services will be held at Gateway Funeral Home on Wednesday July 31, 2024, at 2:00 P.M. with visitation beginning at 1:00 P.M. until the time of the service.
Final arrangements are entrusted to Gateway Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
