CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – As Clarksville gradually thaws out, there are several fun things to do going on, including Harry Potter fun, Casino Night, an arena fight and the Polar Plunge.

Harry Potter Celebration

  • Where: Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library, 350 Pageant Lane
  • When: Saturday, Feb. 7, 1-5 p.m.
  • Cost: Free
  • Details: The library transforms into a Hogwarts-inspired wonderland with live magical creatures, a Sorting Hat ceremony, trivia challenges, a wand shop, costume contest, vendors and a house points competition.

Immaculate Conception School Casino Night

  • Where: Immaculate Conception School Gym, 1901 Madison St.
  • When: Saturday, Feb. 7, 6-10 p.m.
  • Cost: $40 per ticket, available in advance or at the door.
  • Details: One of the school’s largest fundraisers, Casino Night features casino-style gaming, music, dancing, food, a silent auction and a cash bar. Tickets include a bid number, food, $20 in “funny money” and entertainment. The event is for ages 18 and up, with proceeds supporting new educational technology for classroom learning.

LFA 226: Thomson vs. Islomboev

  • Where: F&M Bank Arena, 101 Main St.
  • When: Friday, Feb. 6, at 5:30 p.m.
  • Cost: Tickets start at $35
  • Details: Legacy Fighting Alliance returns to Clarksville with a high-stakes championship bout as reigning LFA Middleweight Champion David Allakhverdiev (7-0) of Ukraine defends his title against American challenger Joe “The Land Animal” Kropschot (7-3).

Polar Bear Plunge

  • Where: New Providence Pool
  • When: Saturday, Feb. 7, at 11 a.m.
  • Cost: $30
  • Details: Open to ages 10 and older, the event encourages participants to dress in costume and compete in categories such as Best Individual Costume, Best Couple or Small Group, and Best Large Group. Proceeds benefit free adaptive swim programs for individuals with special needs, as well as group swim lessons for children through the S.P.A.R.K. Scholarship.

Motivating Magic

  • Where: Gateway Baptist Church, 475 Ringgold Road
  • When: 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 5, and Friday, Feb. 6
  • Cost: Free
  • Details: Magic show with illusionist Chase Williams.

Opening of Black History Month Celebration

  • Where: First Missionary Baptist Church, 301 Fairview Lane
  • When: Sunday, Feb. 1, 4 p.m. (rescheduled from last week)
  • Cost: Free
  • Details: Hosted by the Clarksville Black History Month Committee, this annual kickoff marks 100 years of National Black History Observances. The program will recognize 20 Clarksville Black churches that are more than 100 years old for their lasting service to the community.
