CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Four women walked into a church sanctuary and, while one distracted a 78-year-old woman by praying with her, another stole from the woman’s purse.
At about 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9, the four women entered Hilldale Baptist Church and approached the older woman, according to Clarksville Police spokesman Scott Beaubien.
After a short conversation, one of the women asked the victim to pray with her. “While they were praying, the second female rummaged through the victim’s purse and stole her wallet,” Beaubien said.
Three of the women were then seen on video exiting Sam’s Club after they used the victim’s credit card.
The Clarksville Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance identifying the suspects.
