Theressa Nyoka Long (Stevens), 71, of Clarksville, Tennessee, passed away Tuesday, October 15, 2024.

She was born August 16, 1953, in Nashville, Tennessee to William and Fannie Stevens. Theressa attended Howard High School and, shortly afterwards, had her daughter, Sandra D Newman (Harrington), on July 5, 1969. She moved to Clarksville, Tennessee in 1984 and worked at the Waffle House and Palmyra 149 Market for much of her adult life.

Theressa was respected and loved by many. She was known for her smile, her cheerful spirit, and her love for family. She especially loved her grandchildren, her soap operas, her Diet Sprite, and her sweet pup Shaggy. She will be missed by many.

Theressa was preceded in death by her husband Ronald Long; parents, William M. Stevens and Fannie M. Stevens; brothers Jerry Stevens, Kenny Stevens, and Tito Stevens; sisters Mary Ann Stanley, Bessie Besson, and Roxie Stevens; nephews Randy Stanley, John Stanley, and Stacy Brown.

Theressa is survived by her daughter, Sandy Newman (Michael); step-children Curtis Long, Krista Long, and Michelle Long; grandchild Lindie Porter; great-grandchildren Ayden Porter, Harper Porter, and Emilee Coghlan; step-great-grandchildren Brandon, R.J. Long and Lexi Overton; sister Patricia Lynn; nieces, Chasity Rodgers, Kim Besson, Angela Swift, and Penny Poore Barber; nephews Mike Stanley, Jeff Stanley, Rick Stanley, and Michael Simmons; close friend of many years, Deborah Gibson; Theressa is also survived by her miniature Yorkie, Shaggy.

Celebration of Life will be held Friday, October 18, 2024, at 12 noon with a visitation starting at 10 AM until time of service at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home.
