CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Running is something the whole family can enjoy together. I have never raced a 5k in my life because I have always run them with my kids. Enjoying some miles together is a lot of fun, and being there to see each one of my kids cross the finish line of their first 5k was a great experience that I will never forget for each one of them. Koen took to it like a fish to water; Evelyn on the other hand couldn’t believe people would do this for fun!
A great family running event is coming up in Clarksville. The Color Dash will be held August 29 at the Hemlock complex on Solar Way.
This is a fun, non-competitive run for individuals, families, and friends alike. These runs have a party-like atmosphere with something a little different than your average 5k. Every kilometer you reach offers a color station where someone throws colored corn starch on you, so by the time you are done you are covered with sweat and color.
With everything in life being so competitive nowadays it is nice to have an event that just focuses on the fun of running. An event where completion time is pretty much irrelevant so you can just enjoy the company of family and friends no matter how fast or slow they are. Just enjoy the fun of getting covered in color and work up a good sweat doing it.
Those interested can sign up for the Clarksville Color Dash online. Did I mention it is a fundraiser for the USO? Now you can run and have fun all for a good cause and it’s not often that you can say that.
Don’t forget to bring a change of clothes or towels to sit on so you don’t get your car covered in color dust.
