CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The grand opening of The Workforce Center was held Wednesday, September 24 at their new location, 523 Madison Street. The Workforce Center houses the Tennessee Career Center and Workforce Essentials.
Dozens of local community and business leaders were on hand for the ribbon cutting for the facility. The building also partners with the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development, National Council on Aging, Job Corps, Tennessee Department of Vocational Rehabilitation and Operation Stand Down.
Burns Phillips, Commissioner of Department of Labor and Workforce Development in Tennessee was on hand for the occasion. Burns praised the new facility and talked about his office’s work with the local organization saying the state was making a lot of progress in employment and workforce development.
Montgomery County Mayor Jim Durrett said the Tennessee Career Center and Workforce Essentials both serve a vital role in the community with their services ranging from driver education to also being an important part of Montgomery County’s economic recruitment efforts.
President of Workforce Essentials, Marla Rye talked about the new center. “We’re very excited to have the opening of the new Workforce Center. We’re all here about helping people find jobs and we are looking forward to serving our community at this new location,” Rye said.
