CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The theatre saying, “The show must go on”, holds true at Cumberland Art Centre this week.

At last weekend’s production of, “Dearly Beloved”, one of the lead actresses became ill and an actress who had a smaller role was put in to replace the ill actor with only a few minutes’ notice.

Filling the smaller role left vacant was another actor in the play but who was of a different gender. This is why the director, Art Conn, says, “You gotta love live theater!”

Conn added, “Most theater-goers were unaware of the swap and they both gave an outstanding performance.”

This weekend’s audiences will again be treated to the talents of these two actors who stepped up to play the different roles. Linda Turner, who is a first-time on stage actor, will again be seen as “Honey Raye Futrelle” and seasoned actor Scotty Phillips will be doing double duty as “Wiley” and the role of “Madame Nelda”.

“Dearly Beloved” ends its run this weekend on Friday, August 19 and Saturday, August 20 at Cumberland Arts Centre with SOLD OUT performances each night.
