CLARKSVILLE, TN − As extreme heat continues to impact the region, The Salvation Army of Clarksville is stepping in to offer life-saving support to individuals and families who are especially vulnerable during this time.

To provide relief and protection from the high temperatures, The Salvation Army of Clarksville is currently opening its facility as a cooling center, handing out cold bottled water and hygiene kits, offering meals/snacks, showers, laundry, and pastoral care. These services are available to anyone in need, with a special focus on individuals experiencing homelessness, the elderly, families with young children, and those without reliable access to air conditioning.

HOURS OF OPERATION – July 1st. – Aug. 1st (closed July 4th) Monday – Friday, 9am – 4pm.

“Extreme heat can be just as dangerous as extreme cold,” said Lieutenant Lewandowski, Corps Officer for The Salvation Army of Clarksville. “We are committed to being a place of refuge for those with nowhere else to go. Providing water, and cool spaces is one of the many ways we care for our community year-round.”
