CLARKSVILLE, TN – The end of the Semiquincentennial celebration titled “The Road to 250: America’s Story” is at hand. The last dramatic, thematic reading, called “America and The World,” will be presented on Austin Peay State University’s Mabry Stage at 4:30 on April 8.

Thus far, we have had 11 performances that addressed the political, economic, social and military developments that paved the way for national greatness. This final performance will explain America’s role as a world power and how the 20th century came to be known as the “American century.” The narrators will be supported by actors portraying Presidents Teddy Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Harry Truman, Dwight Eisenhower, John Kennedy and Ronald Reagan, as well as Robert H. Jackson, the chief U.S. prosecutor at the Nuremberg war-crimes trial after World War II, and Tennessee’s own George F. Kennan, who is known as the father of the United Nations.

Admission is free and open to the public. Refreshments will follow in the lobby.
