CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The Food Initiative will host a Hog Roast Hootenanny Saturday, April 28 at the organization’s farm (5470 Sango Road).
The Food Initiative is a local nonprofit that brings the community together to learn about our food system. Bring the family and invite your friends to enjoy an afternoon of good food, games, and live music.
Pit Master Kevin Williams and his wife Charity of Hopkinsville, Ky. will be at the helm of the roasting operation.
Festivities will begin at 11 a.m. with lunch following shortly after. The hog will be removed from the pit at 11:15 a.m. and then given time to rest to let the flavors meld before being served at 11:45 a.m. with popular BBQ sides and desserts, including a s’mores station.
Live music will be provided by Cindy and Ivan from the Beagles from noon to 2 p.m.
Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs. Children are also welcome at the event.
Adult tickets are $15, children’s (3-12) tickets are $7, and children 2 and under are free.
