CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The Food Initiative is moving and needs help with purchasing tools to make the expansion a success.

The Food Initiative (TFI) is a non-profit organization that offers high school students from Montgomery County and Fort Campbell the chance to create personal and social change through hard, meaningful work. The students work in a community garden and grow food which is sold at local markets to raise funds to be donated to area hunger relief organizations.

A few of the organizations that benefit are Loaves and Fishes, Manna Café, and Salvation Army.

The TFI is in need of a tractor of their own. They have $12,000 already raised for the purchase of a new tractor, but still need help raising $9,000.

TFI is moving from a less than three-quarters of an acre lot to a new twelve acre site. The expansion calls for the organization to have its own tools, such as a tractor, instead of trying to borrow what they need.
