Local music venue The Coup will be moving to a new location at 118 University Avenue, after operating for over a year at its current address on College Street.
The Coup opened in 2008 at to a small facility on Crossland Ave, the self described “center for social innovation” then moved to 1148 College Street last July. The venue also features a restaurant offering vegan and vegetarian food options, micro-brewed beer, and a gallery featuring exhibits from different artists each month.
According to its official Facebook page, The Coup “will be having some odd hours over the next two weeks…We will for sure be open for shows most nights.” These hours will have the venue opening at 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, and 12:00 p.m. on Sunday for its weekly yoga class.
The last opportunity to visit the College Street location will be Friday, June 21 for The Coup Benefit Show. Doors open at 5:00pm with artists such as Vela Ceras, Blak tha Map, Case Arnold, and Since When performing. Donations will defray the cost of moving to the new location.
