CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW)- The Bones family, a family of skeletons known for their comical antics each Halloween, took a week from “vacation” to raise the spirits of Clarksville residents who are sheltered in place during the coronavirus pandemic.
Sarah Garcia, her husband- a U.S. veteran and their six children usually debut the Bones Family in October, giving those who walk or drive by a good laugh, as the large Bones family play out different scenarios in the front of the Garcia’s family’s home on Elkmont Drive in the Sugartree Subdivision.
For a little over a week, they took a vacation to Clarksville and were featured in eight different scenes that focused on how people can stay safe, stay active, and just generally have fun during these very trying times.
“We just wanted to do something to help bring smiles,” Sarah Garcia said. “My brother had mentioned how in some cities, people are putting out Christmas decorations and we decided that the Bones putting in an abbreviated visit was in order. I took a night to come up with 10 original scenes. We put those scenes to a vote amongst the Bones Crew (those who help set up the Bones) to weed it down to 8 scenes. That was pretty much it, the Bones arrived the next night. ”
”

The Bones family demonstrated staying physical during quarantine, communicating while social distancing, the woes of remote working with children, how to put on a pandemic fashion show, homeschooling 101 and the value of toilet paper.
They will be back in October, but wanted Clarksville to know they came for a short visit to simply put a smile on everyone’s face and encourage everyone to stay well.
