Contributed commentary by Mandy Gann on reserved parking signs that were recently installed then removed from downtown streets. The signs prevented parking near Sanctuary on Main. Gann brought the matter to the attention of several people, and the signs were removed almost immediately, before any article could be published.

Friends and fellow citizens, this evening, I currently stand thankful and grateful for the individuals who made the progress today possible. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine our prayers would be answered through the thread of politics. I may be of little faith, but I speak my truth.

This afternoon (Thursday), several of the signs along the street of Main and Fourth were removed. I am so very grateful for those of you who put those wheels in action. Several of you were kind enough to email me back today. I amorously applaud you for listening.

A special thank you to the councilwomen who directly emailed me back within hours of my email: Deanna McLaughlin of Ward 2, Karen Reynolds of Ward 9, and Keri Lovato of Ward 12. You ladies do an amazing job of providing quick feedback to the issues facing your constituents. I stand grateful for you and your service.

Those who say our hope in the media is lost haven’t met Chris Smith, the Editor-and-Chief of ClarksvilleNow and Cheri Reeves of Main Street Media. They both delivered today in expressing the voices of their Clarksville community.

A special thank you to my friend and fellow Sanctuary supporter, Donita Cavallero, who kindly assisted me in emailing our concerns. You are a wonderful soul who has served this city well.

I pray the remainder of the signs will be removed tomorrow as promised. I am not a political person, but I find it fitting that this has happened during an election period for our city of Clarksville. I certainly am thankfully for those who took the time to care about the survival of our humble Sanctuary on Main. You are the blood, sweat, and tears of our sweet town.

I invite you all to meet us on the yoga mat at Sanctuary on Main. I promise you will leave a better person.
