CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Close to 350 employees at Tennova Healthcare Clarksville were treated to free lunch Wednesday, June 3 courtesy of Michael’s Pizza in Clarksville.

Rod Rodriguez, a veteran and store manager for the St. Bethlehem location of Michael’s, said they wanted to recognize the healthcare workers at Tennova for all they are doing.

“It’s kind of a way for us to tell them thank you for what they’ve done through this pandemic, being a part of the community and helping folks out,” Rodriguez said.

Michael’s cooked up around 350 individual smart size pizzas, as employees lined up just outside the hospital doors to get their choice of a cheese, pepperoni or sausage pizza and a soft drink or water, then head back inside to enjoy lunch.

Paul Martone, Chief Operating Officer for Tennova, said the free pizza was amazing.

“The community continues to come out and recognize the great job our staff is doing,” Martone said. “I keep telling our staff to take note of who is supporting us through this time and we’re going to remember.”

Partners in the pizza for lunch for Tennova included Mark Allemang with State Farm Insurance and Coca-Cola.
